The Thomas Edison difference
A Mapleton Depot electrician from Thomas Edison Electric is never far from home, because home is right in Huntingdon County. Mapleton Depot sits in ZIP 17052, close to Mill Creek at 2.9 miles, Mount Union at 3.2 and Shirleysburg at 7.5.
We hold PA license PA075449 and full insurance, and our electricians are on our own payroll rather than subcontracted out. Call any hour of any day. If we run late for the window we gave you, we waive the dispatch fee.
Mapleton Depot's electrician drives a stocked TEE van from home, not from someone else's crew.
We open the panel and tell you what's actually there before quoting anything.
Dimming lights or tripping breakers get measured, not assumed.
Every price is on paper before work starts.
Miss the window we promised, and the dispatch fee is on us.

Transparent pricing means written quotes with no surprises.
Across Huntingdon County, older homes tend to have aluminum branch wiring, 100-amp panels, two-prong outlets, and every so often a recalled Federal Pacific or Zinsco panel still in service. An electrical safety inspection is the surest way to find out what your house actually has behind the panel cover.
From there, common fixes include correcting aluminum connections, replacing a recalled panel, or checking whether your amperage is enough for modern loads. See our page on amperage issues if lights dim when the well pump or dryer kicks on. We also handle range, dryer and AC outlets for appliance swaps.
Pennsylvania handles electrical permits through the Uniform Construction Code, and the township covering Mapleton Depot contracts the actual plan review and inspection out to a third-party agency, the same as most of its neighbors. We take care of the paperwork end to end, so it never lands on you.
Met-Ed / Penelec serves most homes around Mapleton Depot, and New Enterprise Rural Electric Cooperative or Valley Rural Electric Cooperative cover other stretches of Huntingdon County. We confirm which one bills you before scheduling a service upgrade or meter change. Call 215-227-7000 for anything on your side of the meter.
Our Pennsylvania and New Jersey experts are ready to resolve your electrical woes.

Mike from Thomas Edison Electric replaced our out-of-service-life whole-house surge protectors and repaired a lighting fixture for our deck. He did an excellent professional job. He didn't try to sell us things we didn't need. I highly recommend Mike.
