The Thomas Edison difference
No subcontractors work under the Thomas Edison Electric name in Tamiment. Every electrician who answers a call here is our own employee, driving a fully stocked TEE van from home. Tamiment, ZIP 18371, sits about a mile from Unity House and a few miles from Bushkill, deep in southern Pike County.
We hold PA license PA075449 and full insurance, and we've completed over 37,000 jobs since 2021. Call 610-782-9000 any hour, any day of the year. You get a written price before work starts, and if we're late, the dispatch fee is on us.
No subcontractors. Tamiment calls go to electricians who dispatch from home in stocked TEE vans.
A safety inspection flags an old panel or missing ground before it becomes an emergency.
A dedicated circuit sized to what your panel can actually deliver.
Surge checks and panel resets after the tree-related outages this part of the county sees.
Licensed, insured and experienced with houses like yours.
The price is on paper first, and we waive the dispatch fee if we're late.
We're dedicated to building lasting relationships with every client through exceptional service and guaranteed results.

An electrical safety inspection is worth doing before you assume an older panel is fine. Copper wiring is the norm around Tamiment, but the 100 to 150-amp panels that came with it run short once a heat pump, hot tub or EV charger enters the picture. We check the panel brand and the breaker capacity in the same visit.
Pike County is rural and heavily wooded, and the tree-related outages that come with a storm are part of why we get called to reset panels and check surge damage after bad weather. Our electricians live in the area and dispatch from home, so a Tamiment call is handled the same as any other stop on the route that day.
Permits for electrical work in Tamiment go through the township, not a county office, following Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code. Most Pike County townships send plan review and inspections to a third-party agency rather than keeping their own building department staffed. We take care of the filing, the scheduling and the actual inspection visit.
PPL Electric Utilities is the primary utility around Tamiment, with Pike County Light & Power and Penelec serving other parts of the county. Service upgrades and meter changes get coordinated with whichever one reaches your home. If the power is out up and down the street, that's a utility repair. If it's just your house, that's ours, any hour.
Our Pennsylvania and New Jersey experts are ready to resolve your electrical woes.

Mike from Thomas Edison Electric replaced our out-of-service-life whole-house surge protectors and repaired a lighting fixture for our deck. He did an excellent professional job. He didn't try to sell us things we didn't need. I highly recommend Mike.
