The typical Coopersburg home dates to 1961, squarely in the years of aluminum branch wiring, 100-amp panels and two-prong outlets. Recalled Federal Pacific or Zinsco panels turn up often enough that we check the panel label on nearly every visit.
Kitchen and laundry upgrades are common too, a dedicated circuit for a new appliance or a range, dryer or AC outlet that the original wiring never accounted for. When the panel itself needs replacing, a circuit breaker upgrade is next.
Coopersburg's median build year of 1961 puts most homes in the aluminum-wiring era. Expect 100-amp panels, two-prong outlets, and the occasional recalled Federal Pacific or Zinsco panel behind the basement stairs.
Circuit breaker and panel upgrades when the existing panel is recalled or out of room.
Aluminum branch-circuit correction at outlets and switches, using approved connectors.
Dedicated circuits for a new range, workshop tool or home office.
Range, dryer and AC outlet installation for kitchen and laundry remodels.
The panel brand is the first thing we check, since it decides whether the fix is a repair or a full replacement.
Coopersburg Borough issues electrical permits under Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code. As with most of Lehigh County, a third-party agency handles plan review and inspection rather than the borough running that office itself. We take on the filing and the inspection scheduling as part of the job.
PPL Electric Utilities serves Coopersburg. A panel upgrade or new meter base means a scheduled disconnect and reconnect with PPL, which we set up directly. A street-wide outage is PPL's to fix. Anything from the meter inward, any hour, is ours.
Our Pennsylvania and New Jersey experts are ready to resolve your electrical woes.

Absolutely thrilled with our electrician Dennis! He was very knowledgeable and polite. Made this process very easy and stress free. We had two light fixtures put in along with an exhaust fan, cleaned up after and everything. Highly recommend this company and their electrician!

Had a great experience with Michael Van for my initial inspection/walk-through and Steve P and the crew with the install. All of them, including the employees on the phone, were polite and prompt, and I'm very satisfied with my new electrical panel and wiring.

Coopersburg Electrical FAQs
Possibly. Homes built in that era commonly used aluminum branch wiring on 100-amp panels. We check outlets and the panel for the telltale signs, then correct loose connections with approved connectors rather than a full rewire in most cases.
It turns up regularly in homes from the 1960s and is recalled for a documented breaker failure risk. If we find one, replacement is the recommendation, quoted in writing before anything is scheduled.
Yes, 24/7, 365 days a year, holidays included. The electrician who responds is our own employee, dispatched from home in a fully stocked van. Call 610-782-9000 whenever you need us.
We do. The borough issues it under the Uniform Construction Code, and a third-party agency, common across Lehigh County, handles inspection. Filing and scheduling the inspector are both part of the job.
