Often, yes. Rowhomes near Center City tend to share the same 1950s-era wiring as single homes nearby, but shared walls can make routing new circuits more involved. A safety inspection tells us the layout before we quote anything.
Sometimes, and we check before assuming either way. A 60 or 100-amp panel from the 1950s often lacks the room a Level 2 charger needs. If it does not, we quote a panel upgrade in writing and coordinate the meter side with PPL.
Look outside first. If the whole block has no power, that is a PPL outage, and PPL handles the repair. If just your home lost power, or only part of it did while neighbors still have lights on, the issue is likely on your side of the meter, which is what our 24/7 line covers.
