The Thomas Edison difference
A Trexlertown electrician from Thomas Edison Electric covers ZIP 18087 in Lehigh County and the newer neighborhoods around it, Breinigsville, East Texas and Alburtis among them. Our electricians are our own employees, dispatched from home in stocked TEE vans.
We're licensed under PA075449, fully insured, and have completed over 37,000 jobs since 2021, with a 4.8-star Google rating. We answer 24/7, 365 days a year, and every job gets a written quote before work starts. Running late means the dispatch fee comes off.
We size EV chargers, generators and added circuits to an already modern panel.
Trexlertown calls go to electricians on our own payroll.
We confirm the panel can handle it before quoting.
Certified Generac dealer, transfer switch to maintenance.
You see the number before a wire gets touched.
Nights, weekends and holidays, fee waived if we're late.
We're dedicated to building lasting relationships with every client through exceptional service and guaranteed results.

Trexlertown's typical home dates to 2004, so the wiring itself is rarely the issue. Copper conductors, grounded outlets and a modern panel are already in place. What changes the math is everything homeowners add on top of that baseline.
An EV charger, a heat pump or a hot tub can push a well-built 2004 panel closer to its limit. We run the load numbers first, whether that means a Level 2 charger circuit or a bump in service size.
A 2004-built Trexlertown house rarely needs its wiring corrected. What it needs is capacity for things that didn't exist when the panel was installed.
The requests we hear most:
EV charger installation, sized after a load check.
Backup generators with a transfer switch, from a certified Generac dealer.
Amperage checks before adding a hot tub or a heat pump.
Whole-home surge protection, worth it once electronics outgrow the panel's design.
We quote each one in writing, after confirming what the panel can support.
Trexlertown isn't its own municipality, so the surrounding township issues electrical permits under Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code, typically through a third-party inspection agency. We file the permit and coordinate the inspection.
PPL Electric Utilities serves Trexlertown, with Met-Ed covering other parts of Lehigh County. Adding an EV charger circuit or generator transfer switch sometimes means a service upgrade, scheduled with PPL. Outages on the lines are PPL's. Everything from the meter in, any hour, is ours.
Our Pennsylvania and New Jersey experts are ready to resolve your electrical woes.

Absolutely thrilled with our electrician Dennis! He was very knowledgeable and polite. Made this process very easy and stress free. We had two light fixtures put in along with an exhaust fan, cleaned up after and everything. Highly recommend this company and their electrician!

Trexlertown Electrical FAQs
Yes. Most 2004-era homes have panel capacity for a Level 2 charger, but we confirm that with a load check first. If the panel needs more room, we quote a service upgrade in writing and coordinate the meter work with PPL.
Rarely from the original wiring. The risk usually comes from adding too much load onto a panel sized for 2004. A quick amperage check tells us whether there's room before we add anything new.
PPL Electric Utilities owns the lines and restores outages on their side of the meter. If your street is dark, that's their call. If it's just your house, that's ours, 24/7, holidays included.
Yes, and it's common here. We size the automatic transfer switch to cover both the charger and the house, as a certified Generac dealer, with a written quote first.
