A house built around 1938 in New Tripoli was wired for a different era: think knob-and-tube remnants tucked in the walls, an old fuse box instead of breakers, 60-amp service and outlets with no ground wire at all. None of that is rare here, and none of it needs to stay that way.
We check the amperage first, since 60 amps rarely covers a modern kitchen and central air together. From there it's usually a service upgrade, a new panel and grounding for the outlets that need it. A full safety inspection before you buy or renovate catches the rest.
New Tripoli's permits go through the township under Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code, and like most townships in the state, plan review and inspections usually run through a third-party agency rather than an in-house building department. We handle the filing and the inspector's visit ourselves.
PPL Electric Utilities serves New Tripoli, with Met-Ed nearby in other parts of Lehigh County. A service upgrade or new panel means we schedule the disconnect and reconnect with PPL. Downed lines and outages belong to PPL. Everything past the meter, any hour, is ours to fix.
