The Thomas Edison difference
A Slatington electrician who knows the area saves the explaining. Thomas Edison Electric covers Slatington Borough and ZIP 18080 in Lehigh County, along with Slatedale and Neffs close by. Every electrician on the job is our own hire, dispatched from home in a stocked TEE van.
The median Slatington home dates to 1938, and we come prepared for that. We're licensed under PA075449, insured, and have completed over 37,000 jobs since 2021. Reach us 24/7, 365 days a year, and expect a written quote before work begins. A late arrival means the dispatch fee is waived.
Fuse boxes, knob-and-tube remnants and 60-amp service are routine for us.
Slatington calls go to our own employees, never a subcontractor.
We fix what's outdated and document it.
Old fixtures replaced or rewired to code.
The price is set before a tool comes out.
Miss our window and the dispatch fee disappears.
We're dedicated to building lasting relationships with every client through exceptional service and guaranteed results.

Transparent pricing means written quotes with no surprises.
A house built in Slatington around 1938 was wired for a different set of appliances than the ones running today. Knob-and-tube remnants linger behind the walls, fuse boxes stand in for breakers, 60-amp service leaves little room, and two-prong outlets show up ungrounded.
None of that is an emergency alone, but it adds up once central air pulls from the same 60 amps. We check the amperage first, then quote whatever the house needs, a safety inspection or a service upgrade.
Slatington's housing stock is old enough that the same handful of issues come up again and again, not a red flag on their own in a 1938-era house.
The usual fixes:
Upgrading 60-amp service to 200 amps.
Replacing fuse boxes with a breaker panel that trips safely.
Grounding two-prong outlets or adding GFCI protection.
Custom lighting work that brings old fixtures up to code.
A safety inspection tells you which of these your home needs, and which can wait.
Slatington Borough issues electrical permits under Pennsylvania's Uniform Construction Code, typically through a third-party inspection agency. We handle the filing and meet the inspector.
PPL Electric Utilities powers Slatington, with Met-Ed serving other pockets of the county. A service upgrade or meter change involves a scheduled disconnect and reconnect with PPL. A borough-wide outage is PPL's to restore. A tripped panel inside your home is ours, any hour.
Our Pennsylvania and New Jersey experts are ready to resolve your electrical woes.

Absolutely thrilled with our electrician Dennis! He was very knowledgeable and polite. Made this process very easy and stress free. We had two light fixtures put in along with an exhaust fan, cleaned up after and everything. Highly recommend this company and their electrician!

Had a great experience with Michael Van for my initial inspection/walk-through and Steve P and the crew with the install. All of them, including the employees on the phone, were polite and prompt, and I'm very satisfied with my new electrical panel and wiring.

Slatington Electrical FAQs
Yes. We're on call 24/7, 365 days a year, including holidays, with electricians who dispatch from home. Vans already carry the parts for most repairs, so a midnight breaker problem usually gets solved on the first visit.
Not automatically, but it's limited. A fuse box from 1938 was sized for far less than a modern home uses. We inspect it and quote a breaker panel upgrade in writing if that's the right move.
Check your neighbors first. If the block is dark, that's a PPL outage. If it's just your house, the problem is on your side of the meter, and that's what we're here for, any hour.
Often, yes. Grounding an outlet or adding GFCI protection covers much of the risk. We check the panel and circuit, then quote the simplest fix that meets code.
